
Gary C. Zigenfus, PT

Gary Zigenfus joined the company in 1992 and is the founder of the physical therapy (PT) program at Concentra. With more than 35 years of experience in the PT arena, he now oversees all aspects of the organization’s physical therapy practice.
Mr. Zigenfus advocates dynamic early intervention and evidence-based medicine in physical therapy. He is a published author and has held several adjunct professor positions at universities across the country. He currently serves on the Editorial Advisory Board for the Official Disability Guidelines (ODG).
Mr. Zigenfus earned his Bachelor of Arts from Trenton State College and his M.S. degree in physical therapy from Duke University. He is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and the APTA’s Orthopedic Section.
John A. Levene, MSPT, OCS
Vice President, Therapy Services
John Levene offers more than 20 years of experience as a physical therapist, with a specialty in outpatient orthopedics. Through his speaking engagements and authored articles, he has become a sought-after leader in the area of evaluation, treatment, and management of a diverse range of musculoskeletal conditions of the upper extremity, lower extremity, and spine.
As vice president of therapy services for Concentra's Atlantic region, Mr. Levene is responsible for the management of 154 centers and 185 therapists in the Northeast, Southeast, and Midwest regions of the United States.
Mr. Levene earned a BS degree from the College of St. Scholastica and an MS degree in biomechanics and motor control from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He is a member of the Orthopedic Section of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and is an Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) through APTA's program. He is also an adjunct faculty for the School of Physical Therapy at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
